What does AoA mean?
AoA means Angle of Attack. It is the angle of the wind relative to the airfoil (the kite). See Angle of attack
What is Airdrag?
The force on an object in an airflow parallel to the direction of the airflow. The drag force is directed against the movement of the object. Kite Inclination Effects
What is the Reynolds formula?
Reynolds = Airdensity * Speed * length / dynamic viscosity. dynamic viscosity is 1.712*10-5 Airdensity is about 1.225 kg/m3 So we get: 1.225 * 11 * 1 / 1.712e-5 = 787091 (that is almost 800.000) for a profile of one meter length) Thanks to Petrik
What is a profile?
This is the shape of the wing (kite) from nose to tail. See Kite Theory (dead)
LEI?
Leading Edge Inflatable kite, its ridged frame is pumped up (with a hand pump) via an internal set of bladders. The frame helps keep its shape during flight. See Leading Edge Inflatables
Ram Air
Air flows into the kite through vent holes in the leading edge. The kite has two skins, top and bottom that trap the air. It also has set of internal ribs to keep its shape.
LE
Leading edge. The front or nose of the kite.
TE
Trailing edge. The back of the kite.
Bridle
This is the spiders web of strings that connect the kite to the lines. The bridle distributes the force between kite and the lines evenly over the bottom canopy.
banana
See Kite Banana
